As if to prove my point, Kanye West has just dropped his new single 'Power' and once again shows that he's a minimum of three steps ahead of his competition.
The track is bangin, he's sampled legendary prog-rock masters King Crimson and the production is massive. The wall of backing vocals provides a pedal point against which the bassline moves to create music that actually moves me and when the classical piano flourishes come in towards the end the whole package is signed and sealed.
Another winner from the reigning champ.
